Our certified insurance enrollment staff in DC can help you determine your eligibility for: 

  • DC Healthcare Alliance (age 21-26) 
  • DC Healthcare Alliance for Children (up to age 20) 
  • SNAP/TANF 

To apply for Health Insurance (including Medicaid), call (844) 796-2797 for an appointment with an insurance enrollment team member, who will help you fill out the form. 

YOU MUST BRING: 

  • Permanent Resident for more than 5 years or U.S. citizen 
  • Photo Identification Card (ID) 
  • Proof of address (e.g., a utility or phone bill) 
  • Proof of income (e.g., paystub, W2, etc.)

If you are a Mary’s Center participant considering applying for health insurance, such as Medicaid, DC Healthcare Alliance, QMB, or SNAP or TANF programs, apply for health insurance through the Bilingual Health Access Program (BHAP) by calling (844) 796-2797 for an appointment. NOTE: To qualify, you must be a DC resident and a Mary’s Center participant who does not qualify for health insurance under the ACA.

We have dedicated staff helping Montgomery County residents who don’t qualify for Medicaid or Medicare to check eligibility for Montgomery Cares, and assist with the application. Montgomery Cares provides basic medical services and pays for part of the cost of your health services.

Medicaid Changes for Maryland Noncitizens: Effective Oct. 1, 2026

To apply for the Healthy Babies Equity Act, a Medicaid program for noncitizen pregnant individuals in Maryland of any immigration status that provides coverage during pregnancy and four months after birth, visit Maryland Health Connection.

Sliding Fee Discount Program 

Mary’s Center offers a Sliding Fee Discount Program that applies uniformly to all patients. The sliding fee discount eligibility assessment is based only on income and family size. Payments and visit costs are adjusted based on the ability to pay and can be found in Mary’s Center’s sliding fee scale / sistema escalonado de tarifas.
