Mary’s Center’s Community Health Education Training and Research (CHETR) Department offers a Public Health Internship to give undergraduate and graduate Public Health students an opportunity to apply lessons learned in the classroom to help solve real community challenges. The next Public Health internships available will be Fall 2022 and Winter/Spring 2023. Space is available for two to three students who are required to do an internship/practicum for credit. The senior nutrition program is a food assistance, care coordination program. They deliver supplemental food boxes to seniors in DC, as well as connect them to other health and wellness resources. The Senior Nutrition intern reports to the Senior Nutrition Program manager and is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the program, including participant intakes, follow-up assessments, and data entry.
