Citywide Initiatives

Mary’s Center works hard to build community in all we do, so we build partnerships with like-minded organizations across the city. These important partnerships build a stronger community and help us address an even wider variety of challenges than we could on our own. Learn more about our citywide initiatives below.

Child Find Program

Through the Child Find Program, Mary’s Center identifies, locates, and screens children with disabilities and those thought to have disabilities who need early intervention or special education services. These services are available based on your child’s developmental needs including communication, motor skills, and social-emotional well-being.

If your child is eligible, an early intervention team will work with you to develop an Individual Family Service Plan that identifies you and your child’s goals and lists the appropriate services and support that best address your concerns and priorities. For a referral to our Child Find Program, please email Leslie Hatton at lhatton@maryscenter.org.

Community School Initiative

Mary’s Center works in partnership with EL Haynes PCS, Briya PCS, and the Mary’s Center School-Based Mental Health program to promote student health and academic success. The partnership is supported by a grant from the Office of the State Superintendent of Education (OSSE) and has three primary aims:

  1. Promote student learning and close the achievement gap
  2. Reduce chronic student absences
  3. Ensure students and their families have ongoing access to medical, dental, and mental health care.
