Therapy

Life can throw unexpected challenges your way and it’s important to know you’ve got someone to rely on when things get tough. Our compassionate and affirming behavioral health care team offers help and hope when you need it most. You can rely on the qualified team at Mary’s Center for your needs including:

  • Individual Therapy: Sometimes life’s challenges are hard to face alone. When you come to individual therapy, a Mary’s Center therapist will work alongside you to address a lingering challenge, inspire change, and help you improve your overall quality of life.
  • Family and Couples Therapy: Coming to therapy as a family can be a beneficial tool for healing. We offer understanding, confidential talk therapy for couples and families who want to improve their communication and healthily resolve conflict.
  • Group Therapy: Expressing your challenges to others who are in a similar circumstance can be very healing. Group therapy at Mary’s Center is led by one or more of our trained therapists in a safe, confidential, and supportive setting.
  • Psychiatry: For many people, medication is an integral part of mental health recovery. If you and your therapist decide medication is needed, our psychiatrists are available for ongoing medication management services.

Whatever your challenge, our highly-trained therapists can meet your needs. Our team of providers specializes in a variety of behavioral health needs including:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Emotional or physical trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • LGBTQIA needs
  • Maternal mental health
  • Substance Abuse

Getting Started with a Therapist

The first step to being matched with a therapist at Mary’s Center is to complete an intake assessment. No appointment is required; you can simply show up! Our assessments are offered at set times during the week on a first-come, first-served basis and can be attended virtually or in person. Please bring identification and insurance information (sliding scale options also available).

The intake assessment is a two-step process. You will first meet with a care coordinator to go through paperwork and review your needs and preferences before being scheduled for a diagnostic assessment with an intake therapist. After the intake assessment, wait times for a therapist are capped at two months. If we do not have a therapist available at that time, our care coordinators will reach out to provide you with referral options.

If seeking therapy for a child age 7+, only the parent/guardian needs to attend the initial care coordination visit. If you are interested in services for a child under the age of seven or in contacting a therapist at one of our partner schools, please visit our page on services for Children and Teens.

Note: Our intake assessments are for those interested in starting therapy at Mary’s Center only and are not intended as a one-time evaluation for disability certifications, immigration reasons, or other purposes.

Therapy openings are currently limited, and we may not be able to match you with a therapist. Most openings are between the hours of 9-4 and are primarily via telehealth.
