Miriam Szubin

Miriam Szubin is the Director of Children and Family Programming at the Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center. She has worked at the EDCJCC since 2007, building and running programs that provide fun and enriching activities for children (from infancy through elementary school) and opportunities for learning and community building for parents and parents-to-be. In addition to overseeing Child and Caregiver Classes, Parent Programs, and Family Programs, Miriam also currently serves as the Director of Admissions for the EDCJCC’s Preschool.  Miriam’s professional experience before the EDCJCC included teaching high school history at the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School and working in the education department of the National Portrait Gallery. She has a Masters in Education from the Jewish Theological Seminary and a B.A. in American Studies from Yale. Before joining the Mary’s Center board, Miriam served on the Community Engagement Council.  Her three sons are all pediatric patients at Mary’s Center, and she lives in Adams Morgan, just down the street from the Ontario Road location.
