Miriam has been Mary’s Center’s Behavioral Health Intake Manager for the past three and a half years. In this role, she oversaw the launch of the department’s Open Access Intake System; in the two years since then, almost 2,000 participants have gone through this system, most subsequently starting psychotherapy services at Mary’s Center. She is a licensed independent clinical social worker in both DC and MD and provides psychotherapy to our participants. Before this, Miriam worked for nearly four years as a social worker at the Center for Victims of Torture in St. Paul, Minnesota. She completed a Fulbright fellowship in Amman, Jordan between 2016-2017, where she researched refugee mental health services and interned at a community center for urban refugees. When not at work, Miriam studies multiple musical instruments, is an avid reader, and loves horror movies.
