Dr. Nkongchu joined Mary’s Center in April of 2019. She is a Board Certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). She has worked in psychiatry for more than 12 years in various settings including inpatient, outpatient, community and correctional mental health, partnering with patients for recovery focused mental health treatment. Dr. Nkongchu takes a holistic approach to mental health treatment, utilizing evidence-based practice to diagnose and treat each individual patient, reducing stigma and advancing quality mental health care. She has an interest in adult behavioral health, integrated behavioral health, transcultural psychiatry, and correctional mental health. She has experience in treating a range of conditions including mood and anxiety disorders, trauma and PTSD, ADHD, psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia. She also has additional training in women’s health, including perinatal depression and anxiety disorders. Dr. Nkongchu enjoys spending time with friends and family, travelling, reading, biking, and hiking.
