Almaas Bannister, LGSW

I received my Bachelor of Social Work from the University of North Florida and completed my Master of Social work at Ohio State University with a specialization in substance use and clinical mental health. I moved to the DC area in 2023 to serve as a school-based mental health therapist within the DC public school system. I am passionate about working with youth and adolescents alongside their families to support them through challenging transitions and provide them with tools to continue to flourish outside of treatment. I value a person-centered and strengths-based approach when providing services to ensure that I am meeting the needs of my clients effectively and with respect to their preferences and values. In my free time, I love to bake, attend community events, hike, and spending time with my friends, fiancé, and cat.
