Lydia Goring is a community leader and real estate investor who has lived in the District of Columbia for over 35 years. She retired from American Airlines after a long and successful career and has since focused her time and energy on improving her community. Lydia served as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner for ANC2C for six years and also as a president, vice-president and treasurer of the Mt. Vernon Square Neighborhood Association. In addition, she received the Dr. Arthur Flemming Community Leadership Award, in recognition of her exemplary service and leadership in the revitalization of distressed communities. Lydia is an experienced real estate investor and business owner, having acquired, renovated, and managed single-family and small multi-family properties for over 40 years. She also founded the Mt. Vernon Square Bed and Breakfast. A patient of Mary’s Center, Lydia has a strong interest in the well-being of older adults, especially their access to quality, age-appropriate healthcare.
