Ms. Gonzalez Portillo joined Mary’s Center in October 2015. Her research on “Primary Care Interventions to Reduce Childhood Obesity in Latino Children” was published in National Association of Nurse Practitioner’s Journal of Pediatric Health Care. Born and raised in Honduras in a loving military family, she was inspired by her parents’ dedication to serving others. She is active in her church and serves in various ministries. She also enjoys CrossFit, weight training and running, as well as cooking, especially Thai and Asian dishes! Ms. Gonzalez says: “I am passionate about working with underserved populations. I am determined to help curb social disparities and am committed to giving every single one of my patients the best of myself. I am delighted to be part of the Mary’s Center’s Team and to helping to advance our mission.”
