A Seiji Hayashi, MD
Title: Chief Transformation Officer, Medical Director, Petworth site
Dr. Hayashi is a board-certified family physician and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. He has been caring for patients in community health centers for 20 years. In addition to clinical care, he is an experienced executive in primary care practice, health policy, and health information technology. He has been a faculty member and leader at Georgetown University and George Washington University. Dr. Hayashi also served as Chief Medical Officer for the Bureau of Primary Health Care, the federal agency that oversees all federally qualified health centers. While caring for patients at Mary’s Center, he is also the Director of Medicine for Human Dx, a technology project to enhance access to care. Dr. Hayashi graduated with honors from Vassar College with a degree in Studio Art. He received his medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society. After completing his Family and Community Medicine Residency Program at the University of California San Francisco, he received his Master of Public Health degree from the Harvard School of Public Health while serving as a fellow for the Commonwealth Fund/Harvard University Fellowship in Minority Health Policy.
