HIV Outreach Team Honors National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day

On February 7th, National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, the Mary’s Center HIV Team visited Bowie State University, a Historically Black University, for outreach and HIV testing. The team set up a booth at which they educated students, providing them with statistics, such as the fact that 85% of new HIV cases are women of color and 94% of DC women living with HIV are Black/African American. The team were able to test 17 students total and were invited to come back once a month.

Montgomery County's Interdisciplinary Team Honored by the AMA and AHA

The Interdisciplinary Team of Care in Montgomery County is celebrating American Heart Month with a recogntion from the American Medical Association (AMA) and the American Heart Association (AHA) through their Target: Blood Pressure Recognition Program—a program that celebrates physicians, practices, and health systems nationwide for prioritizing the treatment of hypertension.
