Mary's Center Receives $75,000 Grant From CareFirst

CareFirst recently awarded Mary’s Center a $75,000 grant to support wellness visits for under- and uninsured participants at our Adelphi location in Prince George’s County. With this grant we will be able to offer more preventative healthcare at this location, where we see some of our neediest participants.

CareFirst was one of the original investors who supported our mission to open our Adelphi site and this grant symbolizes their long-term commitment to prosperity in the region. We are so grateful for the support we have received from CareFirst over the years and how it allows us to help uninsured patients treat chronic conditions such as hypertension and diabetes, as well as engage in preventative care. Since research has shown that consistent access to preventative and primary healthcare positively affects an adult’s well-being, particularly when combined with livable wage employment, education opportunities, and affordable housing, this grant will allow us to improve our patient’s’ lives.
