Teen Clinics

Mary's Center's Teen Clinics at our Georgia Avenue and Ontario Road sites provide the opportunity for Teens to receive Comprehensive Health Services, including medical care, health education, mental health services, social services, and reproductive health services, in a structured, friendly environment.

Teen Clinics occur on Saturdays at our DC clinics. Call 1-844-79-MARYS or 1-844-796-2797 to learn when the next Teen Clinic is scheduled.

What can I expect to find at a Teen Clinic?

During your appointment, you will rotate through the following stations:

  • Well check/physical exam from a Mary's Center health care provider experienced in adolescent health.
  • Meet one-on-one with a Health Promoter to speak about teen health issues and ask all of your questions.
  • Meet one-on-one with a Teen Family Support Worker to learn about all of the opportunities for Teens available at Mary’s Center and in the community.
  • Receive all necessary labwork and vaccinations.

Do I need to bring my parent to the Teen Clinic?

You don’t need to be with a parent if you come to see a provider for “Confidential Services”. What are Confidential Services? Your Health Care visit is “confidential” when you talk to your doctor about your Sexual Health, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse.

You do need to come with a parent when you come to see a provider for

  • Immunizations for School or Travel
  • Annual Physical Exams
  • Physical Exams for Sports
  • Sick Visits

Do I need health insurance to visit the Mary's Center Teen Clinic / how much will it cost?

If you are uninsured, you will be charged for your medical visit on a sliding scale based on your family's size and income. Other features of the Teen Clinic are free of charge.

Mary's Center's offerings for teens include: an afterschool program, summer job program, case management services, peer educators program, parent workshops, and more.
