Dr. Pe Thet Khin, Burma's Minister of Health, visited Mary's Center on April 12, 2012. His tour of Mary's Center was part of a week-long visit focused on how Johns Hopkins University can assist Burma in addressing its development goals, particularly in relation to the health of its citizens.

Thanks to special funding from the DC government and the tireless advocacy of Councilmember Jim Graham, the Bernice Fonteneau Senior Wellness Center (managed by Mary's Center) is now able to provide healthy lunches for its members.

On Tuesday, March 6th, a group of Mary's Center staff attended the Grand Finale of the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) of the National Capital Area. It was annouced that the CFC campaign raised over $64 million for nonprofit charitable organizations.

The Bernice Fonteneau Senior Wellness Center, funded by the DC Office on Aging and managed by Mary's Center, celebrates its first year of service to District seniors on March 1st, 2012.
