Dr. Pe Thet Khin, Burma's Minister of Health, visited Mary's Center on April 12, 2012. His tour of Mary's Center was part of a week-long visit focused on how Johns Hopkins University can assist Burma in addressing its development goals, particularly in relation to the health of its citizens.

Thanks to special funding from the DC government and the tireless advocacy of Councilmember Jim Graham, the Bernice Fonteneau Senior Wellness Center (managed by Mary's Center) is now able to provide healthy lunches for its members.
