Mental Health
Mental health services are a crucial component of our social change model. Most of the individuals and families using mental health services at Mary's Center were referred internally as mental health screening is built into our medical and social services prorgams.
Mary’s Center is a Core Service Agency (CSA) with the DC Department of Mental Health and paneled with many insurance providers (see below). Our Maryland clinics provide behavioral health services through a Primary Care Behavioral Health model to participants who are currently accessing primary care at our Maryland locations. Behavioral health services are provided under an Integrated Care model in which behavioral health providers work together with medical providers to help address patients’ mental/behavioral health needs within the primary care setting.

- Parent Child Interactive Therapy
- Motivational Interviewing
- Solution Focused Counseling
Our Staff
Our Mental Health staff members are licensed mental health professionals and clinical case managers. Our Providers speak English and Spanish and provide services to individuals and families from six and above who are residents of the District of Columbia. We also offer Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) for children ages 2-6. PCIT is a short-term parent-coaching program that teaches caregiver skills and techniques to improve their child's behavior.
Fees and Billing Information
The Mental Health Department at Mary’s Center accepts the following health insurances:
- Medicaid (Chartered, Unison and Health Services for Children with Special Needs)
- Straight Medicaid
- DC Healthcare Alliance
- And some private insurances.
All others will be assessed a sliding scale fee at the time of service. Please contact us to learn if we accept your insurance at (202) 420-7122.
Hours/Contact Information/Locations
The Mental Health Department at Mary’s Center is open Monday through Friday, from 8:30-5:00pm, and evenings until 8:00 pm, by appointment only.
All incoming calls are answered by support staff during business hours at (202) 420-7122.
We provide services at five locations: 2333 Ontario Road (DC), 508 Kennedy Road (DC), and 3912 Georgia Avenue (DC), 8709 Flower Avenue (MD), 8908 Riggs Road (MD).
