Legislative Toolkit
Thanks
to the collaborative efforts between Mary’s Center’s Advocacy and
Communications Department, various federal legislative staff representatives
from offices such as that of Senator Barack Obama, the World Bank and the National
Council of La Raza, Mary’s Center has created a legislative toolkit focused
on immigrant health care issues. The kit is designed to provide federal, state
and local legislators with a variety of immigrant health care facts and figures
as well as raise awareness regarding the impact of current health policies on
immigrant families. The toolkit also highlights model legislation that addresses
access to community-based health services and the unique health care needs of
immigrants.

Testimonies
Many
times throughout the year the executive management team and senior staff representatives
of Mary’s Center are called upon to provide expert testimony at public
health hearings, District of Columbia City Council meetings and other high-profile
seminars.
